The Associated Press reports that Yale University has awarded Paul McCartney an honorary doctoral degree in music—so is that Dr. Sir Paul now?

According to Yale’s Web page, the degree was bestowed upon him in recognition of his “musical genius and generous support of worthy causes.”  The site goes on to say that McCartney’s songs “awakened a generation, giving a fresh sound to rock, roll, rhythm, and blues.”
