Weinsteins to Produce Jim Henson’s Fraggle Rock

According to Variety, The Weinstein Co. will turn Jim Henson’s Fraggle Rock into a musical feature film.
As in the series, which ran for five seasons on HBO starting in 1983, the puppet characters will leave their home on Fraggle Rock and encounter humans whom they believe are aliens.
Cory Edwards, who directed the animated film Hoodwinked! for The Weinstein Co., will write the screenplay and direct the picture, which Ahmet Zappa and Brian Inerfeld are executive producing.
