Variety reports that DreamWorks is behind a new film regarding the life and times of the notorious pirate Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard.
David Franzoni, who wrote the scripts for Amistad and Gladiator, will write the screenplay. Barry Josephson (Enchanted) will co-produce Blackbeard with former Philadelphia 76ers co-owner and pirate aficionado Pat Croce.
