The 65-city tour will start May 17 in Columbus, OH, after the band makes its first national television appearance May 1 on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

The Grammy-winning group has sold over 35 million albums worldwide since it formed in 1992. After the tour, the band plans to begin recording a new album.

Frontman Scott Weiland is able to resume singing with Stone Temple Pilots because, according to an April 1 announcement from the members of Velvet Revolver—the group he formed after Stone Temple Pilots broke up—he is no longer a member of that band. Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash says in a statement that “among other things, his increasingly erratic on-stage behavior and personal problems have forced us to move on.”
