According to Reuters news service, Walter Becker of Steely Dan will be releasing Circus Money, his first solo album since 1994’s 11 Tracks of Whack.

The album represents a bit of a stylistic departure for Becker—he tells billboard.com that following the most recent Steely Dan tour, he "went into a deep research period. One of the guitar techs is a big Jamaican music fan. And I started to listen to all this stuff that he had—these really deep, dub cuts from the '70s. I just became totally fascinated with it, so I spent a lot of time listening to that and working on stuff along those lines."

Produced by Larry Klein, the album will most likely be released by this summer. Starting in April, however, Becker will be on the road with Donald Fagen and the rest of Steely Dan for a revamped tour that he says will change the “flow and energy” of previous outings. Dates are listed below.
