According to billboard.com, indie rock band Built To Spill is in the midst of recording its upcoming album and is preparing to embark on a fall tour of Europe and North America to perform the entirety of its classic 1997 album, Perfect From Now On.The Billboard report says that in order to properly recreate the album’s sound, the band will be joined on the road by the original cellist John McMahon. Doug Martsch (who formed the band in 1992, according to a wikipedia Online encyclopedia entry) mentions in the Billboard report that the band will perform songs from other albums during encores.
The report goes on to say that the band has recorded 15 tracks, now in various stages of completion, for its upcoming Warner Bros. album, the follow-up to 2006’s You in Reverse. The band will not continue recording until after further rehearsals for the tour—likely in late July.
Tour dates have not yet officially been announced except for the appearence at the My Bloody Valentine-curated ATP festival in New York.
