According to billboard.com, Stevie Wonder is not only about to embark on an international summer tour; he is also at work on two new projects. The report says that Wonder will follow 2005’s Grammy-winning album A Time 2 Love with The Gospel Inspired by Lula, a tribute to his mother Lula Mae Hardaway, who passed away in May 2006.
“Some of it is going to be traditional gospel but some of it is going to be…I'm trying to do some (different) stuff,” Wonder explained in the Billboard report. “I might do something in Arabic. I might do something in Hebrew. My whole thing of the title is just saying ‘Spreading the good word, the message.’”
In the report, Wonder goes on to say that the album will be composed of some traditional pieces, songs he has written on the road, and some previously unrecorded material.
Wonder’s other project, according to the report, is Through the Eyes of Wonder, a performance piece exploring the realities of living with blindness. The performances would have a visual component that would attempt to convey the way the world appears to Wonder, who has been blind since infancy.
There is no word on a completion date for either project.
