According to a Variety report, William Hurt will star in The River Why, an adaptation of the David James Duncan novel of the same name.According to amazon.com, the novel revolves around a young man—in the film, played by Zach Gilford (television’s Friday Night Lights)—who abandons his family in the city to search for the Pacific Northwest steelhead trout and in the process gains a greater sense of self-knowledge.
Variety continues by saying that the film, which is produced by Ambush Entertainment, also stars Amber Heard (Alpha Dog), Kathleen Quinlan (Made of Honor), and Dallas Roberts (3:10 to Yuma).
Additionally, notes the report, Ambush will use the film to find ways in which film makers can “go green” in order to minimize any negative impact on the environment that may occur during the filmmaking process. Filming starts in Portland, OR later this month.
