Variety reports that Sacha Baron Cohen and Will Ferrell will star as Sherlock Holmes and Watson respectively in a comedic take on Arthur Conan Doyle’s legendary detective.

Variety continues by saying that Columbia Pictures will produce the film, which is the second major studio project featuring the iconic sleuth. Warner Bros. is in the early stages of producing a drama directed by Guy Ritchie that will feature a Holmes who takes advantage of not only his prodigious brainpower but also his skills in martial arts.

The report adds that Judd Apatow and Jimmy Miller will produce. Ethan Cohen (Tropic Thunder) is writing the script.
